Your eBay Buying Rights.

As a buyer on eBay you have two eBay buying rights. These eBay buying rights basically make you more empowered whenever you buy something on eBay. It is important that you exercise the eBay buying rights.

The first of our eBay buying rights is the right to receive your item. This is the most fundamental of the eBay buying rights. You pay the seller the money for an item and you expect to receive it. If you don’t receive your item it does not matter if it was because the seller never sent the item, or it got lost in the post. Your buying rights state that you have the right to a replacement or a refund, whether it’s the seller’s fault or not.

If you buy something on eBay your buying rights are the exact same rights that you would have if you had bought the item in a shop. The buying rights apply to buyers all over the world, regardless of the country that they live in. If you bought an item through eBay then your buying rights mean that you are entitled to receive the item after the seller has received your payment. In addition to this, the eBay buying and selling policy rules that once an auction has ended it becomes a contract between the buyer and seller. The buyer must pay and the seller must sell.

Another of your eBay buying rights is that you are entitled to receive the item in the condition that it was described or, if a photo was used, as it was shown. If there is a considerable difference between the description and photograph of an item to the one that you are sent then the seller has not fulfilled your eBay buying rights and you are entitled to a replacement or a refund. It doesn’t matter if the seller didn’t wrap the item properly so it gets broken or the description was misleading or just plain wrong you can exercise your eBay buying rights and obtain a refund or replacement as appropriate.

If you want to use your eBay buying rights the first step is to contact the seller and explain the situation. Most sellers do not want to have their reputation damaged by a buyer leaving negative feedback which may put off potential buyers so they will respect your eBay buying rights. However, if you find that your eBay buying rights have still not been fulfilled by the seller then you can contact eBay directly and lodge a complaint. The company takes breaches of their eBay buying rights very seriously.
